In this talk, I will discuss the scope of AI research within the finance domain. AI enables principled knowledge representation and mining, multiagent simulation of complex economic systems, learning from data, generation of synthetic data, support to human decision making and optimization, and algorithm explanation. I will present illustrative use cases and future directions.
