The PROGRESS Initiative has been developed to improve diversity in the field of signal processing (SP) and as a result, in the membership of IEEE SPS. Towards that goal, it will proactively motivate and prepare women or under-represented segments of the population to pursue academic positions. It includes a workshop, as integral part of IEEE ICASSP and ICIP conferences, and follow up surveys and mentoring teleconferences.
