A Message Transmission Scheme for Linear Time-Varying Multipath Channels

We propose a new method for transmitting messages through a linear time-varying multipath communication channel, which takes the time-varying into account. This work is motivated by some applications where the time dependence of communication channels cannot be ignored and therefore frequent updates on channel information is required. Our strategy is to estimate the channel and the transmitted signal simultaneously from the received signal. As a technical tool, we use an uncertainty principle in finite time-frequency representations.
